GulfWave2:
Installation
What do you get with the purchase
of a unit? The system is supplied with a sub panel, complete
with its breakers and water heater flexible hoses with
compression fittings for ease of installation.
As with all electrical appliances, under no circumstances
should you attempt to install, repair or disassemble the
tankless water heater without first shutting off all power to
the unit directly at the fuse or breaker box.
Installation of this product is restricted to indoor locations
only by licensed plumbing and electrical contractors.
TURN OFF ALL POWER to the water heater directly at the fuse or
breaker box.
PLUMBING CONNECTIONS: BEFORE connecting the water heater lines
to the water heater, it is extremely important to FLUSH the
lines to eliminate all plumbing paste or electrical residues
or any other type of residue in the lines.
This water heater is supplied with water heater hoses. Bring
the HOT WATER and COLD WATER lines to the water heater hoses
and attach the lines to the proper fittings.
Connect the COLD water line to the water heater hose inlet
marked “COLD WATER IN” (right hand pipe).
Connect the HOT water line to the water heater hose outlet
marked “HOT WATER OUT” (left hand pipe).
After tightening hoses, open the hot water faucet and allow
the water to run through the water heater for a least TWO
MINUTES. This process clears all the air from the lines and
MUST be performed prior to turning on the power to the unit.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS STEP WILL
CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE UNIT AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY
A pressure relief valve is not
required for this water heater. You can, however, install one
as an added safety feature if your city or state codes require
it.
Electrical Connections
All models require high
temperature wire and specific size breakers as follows:

Wire size may vary depending on
local electrical standards. For best results, use solid copper
wire. The electrical specifications are based on 208-240
volts, single phase. This unit may not be installed on three
phase electrical systems. All units are supplied with power
leads, service disconnect box and breakers.
DOUBLE CHECK the electrical connections to make sure all leads
and ground have been properly attached to the terminals of the
service disconnect box.
Finally, turn power to the heater on at the fuse or breaker
box and enjoy an endless supple of hot water, plus space and
energy savings for years to come. CAUTION – Do not touch any
part of the interior of the unit with any object once the
power is turned on to the unit. A short will incapacitate the
unit.
The Digital Control can be set to
customize the water temperature to the user’s preference. We
suggest for economy any safety reasons that the unit be
adjusted to allow the person who takes the hottest showers in
the home to be comfortable with the mixer valve at the highest
heat setting. This eliminates the need to mix cold water with
hot water, thereby reducing energy costs. It also eliminates
scalding injuries. Once adjusted the water temperature
maintains the same adjustment.
DOE Recommends 110 degrees for
everyday hot water usage.
